Instrumentation Specialist - Industrial Control Systems

Service Pump & Supply is hiring an experienced Instrumentation Specialist to join our team in Huntington, WV. This full-time position involves shop-based work (building and wiring control panels) and on-site troubleshooting and installation of instrumentation systems for industrial and municipal customers. For more than 40 years, we’ve built our reputation on strong customer service, reliable emergency response, and hands-on technical expertise. Most of the time this is Monday-Friday, 40-hours-a-week work, but to make sure we provide quality service to our customers, team members work an on-call schedule that can require availability after hours, on weekends, and on holidays.

What You’ll Do

• Install, calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot industrial instrumentation, including sensors, transmitters, PLCs, VFDs, and process control systems
• Build and wire custom control panels to specifications
• Assist with field installation and commissioning of electrical and control systems
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, technical drawings, and equipment manuals
• Document service activity clearly and accurately
• Follow OSHA safety protocols and company procedures
• Work independently or as part of a team to meet service expectations and deadlines
• Provide on-call emergency service on a rotating schedule

What You Need

• Minimum 4 years of experience in industrial instrumentation, automation, or related field
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Familiarity with PLCs, VFDs, motor controls, and control circuits
• Ability to read technical schematics and wiring diagrams
• Electrician license a plus (not required)
• Valid driver’s license and good driving record
• Clean drug screen

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Must be able to bend, kneel, stretch, and work from ladders
• Comfortable working in both indoor and outdoor environments in a variety of conditions
